A Super Sunday Afternoon Treat                                         There are still tickets available for the award-winning Southern Minstrel Show on February 21st 2010 at Theatre Royal Winchester. Guaranteed to bring a smile to your face and set your toes-a-tapping this promises to be a performance not to be missed and we hoped that you and your residents might be able to join us.

The 60 strong Southern Minstrels aged from three to adult, are famous for their glamorous dance routines, gorgeous costumes and glittering lights. They are now in their 45th sensational sapphire anniversary year and we are delighted to announce that that they will be performing this spring, in aid of Brendoncare.

This February, dust down your platforms and flares and enjoy a selection of songs from Abba, be wowed by the best of the West End with routines from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and Bugsy Malone and much, much more.

This truly all singing, all dancing extravaganza is in aid of Brendoncare, a local charity for older people.

Marketing and Celebrating Youth Arts

Artsplan Training 25th March 2010, 10 am- 4.15 pm, Basepoint, Southampton

Artsplan, the training and publications department of Artswork and in-house training provider for ENYAN (English National Youth Arts Network), is offering an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to develop the skills and knowledge needed to market and celebrate youth arts projects successfully.

The ‘Get sorted 3: Marketing and Celebrating your Project’ training has been developed by Artsplan trainers, who have a wide range of excellent skills, experience and understanding from working within the Youth Arts sector.

This one-day course explores ways to develop effective marketing techniques for your youth arts project. The session offers practical examples and structures for planning your marketing strategy, including drawing up an action plan, collating resources, design and print, using the media and managing public relations with the local community.

This course also looks at the exit strategy of ending a youth arts project by celebrating its completion and bringing it to a successful close. A practical and informative training session aimed at filling you with the confidence, skills and knowledge needed to market and celebrate your project successfully.

Rachel Preston, Artsplan Development Manager comments; ‘This course gives a very thorough and accurate overview of how to market and celebrate your project, it covers all the relevant issues, benefits and pitfalls involved so that you can be well equipped to deal with them when the time comes.’

All participants will receive a certificate of attendance upon successful completion of the course and a wealth of practical resources. Prices for each course, which include lunch and refreshments, range from £150 to £110, with limited bursaries available.
